ICONIC: BLACK BRILLIANCE ON THE SCREEN

Pop-Up Exhibit and Experience

Our annual Detroit fundraising event is designed to educate, inspire and foster community, while concurrently advancing our mission. This experience will connect diverse members of the Detroit art community, inclusive of local and diverse entrepreneurs. tastemakers, educators, professionals and supporters, while directly supporting the preservation and archiving of The Black Canon Collection.


The visual exhibit will spotlight legendary icons Harry Belafonte, Dorothy Dandridge, Lena Horne and Paul Robeson, and will include relevant artifacts from the collection, as well as curated live-projected film selections.


This historic experience will feature:

  • Exclusive Pop-Up Exhibit 
  • 16mm Live-Projected Film Selections
  • Silent Auction
  • Fireside Chat with Co-Founders of TBC 
  • Music | Signature Drinks | Lite Bites
